5 Fall Activities for the Whole Family

There is no time like the fall for some outdoor family fun. The leaves are changing and the weather is just the perfect amount of brisk. Keep your kids smiling and moving with these activity ideas.

Apple Picking

Gather the troops and head to an orchard to pick up some healthy snacks! Apple picking is not only exercise, but it can lead to cider and pie.

Scarecrow Decorating

Build a stand out of wood, stuff an old shirt with hay, and decorate an old burlap sack to make a head or use a pumpkin to make this iconic farm character. Add gloves, boots, and a scarf when the weather cools!

DIY Ghost

Hang a ghost made of a sheet or place glow in the dark ghost stickers in a window to prepare your house for the holiday season!

Corn Mazes

Just outside the limits of most cities you can find farms that host corn mazes throughout the fall. Whether you decide to participate in the scavenger hunt or just play a little hide and seek with your loved ones, corn mazes are incredibly fun and get your heart rate up too!

Raking (and swimming in) Leaves

Mobilize your children (with your supervision) to rake leaves into large piles — then roll around in them! The resulting fun serves as an incentive for your children’s hard work.
