Rusty Weston of Yahoo! Real Estate reported findings from the study, which include:
— The need for green and energy efficient appliances and materials are more popular than “water views,” “mountain views,” and “building a custom home.”
— More than half of those participating say that green and energy efficient appliances are amenities that they are seeking for their next home.
— Of those in the market for a new home, more than 25 percent say that they are looking for a “greener, more energy-efficient home.”
Choosing a renewable electricity plan is an easy way for homeowners to benefit from the same reduced environmental impact as a home built or renovated with energy efficient materials, only without the need to reconstruct or physically change property.
Check back in the coming weeks for more details about how homeowners earn tax credits, rebates, and more for making energy-efficient upgrades.
